Miss me Dustin?
After a little hiatus, I am back to brawl, literally if I must. I came so close in season three, that it left me wanting more. So after a forced, but needed break, I am back to see what I can do. This theme is a favorite of mine, so it seemed as good a time as any to return.
I am playing this game as an alias, as it seems that most other people are too. However, if I do happen to discover that I know someone else, I will keep that info to myself rather than let them know that I know them. I see that as an advantage to me as I will know something that they don't know. If it is someone that I have worked well with in the past, I will know to work with them here, at least until I don't need them anymore. If it is someone I know to be a threat and/or untrustworthy, I will cut them the first chance I get. Especially if I know that they can be a wildcard. I hate wildcards and fence sitters. You never know what they are going to do, and you certainly can't control them.
My strategy for this game is going to be similar to how I was in the third season. I am going to be that guy that everyone likes and gets along with, so it will be SO hard to put me up, at least at first. That will, I believe get me through the first few rounds and give me time to build up trust and alliances with people. Later rounds, I plan to gradually come out publicly so to speak, as as player, but not too hard too fast because if I am seen as a threat too early, its easy to justify putting me on the block. However, by that time, I should have people who are willing to save me if need be.
I am not telling anyone of course that I have played this game before. My standard line is "I have heard good things about this host, and the game, so I thought I would give it a shot and apply".
Now, I have talked to almost everyone so far, some more than others. And here are a few of my first impressions:
Lisa: I talked to her first and we really seemed to hit it off. I played the free spirited, fun loving kind of character and she loosened up fast. I think I can build on that and get her to trust and even like me. We shall see.
Enzo: Same as Lisa pretty much. We really clicked and he and I seem to see eye to eye on a lot of things. I joked with him yesterday that he better not call himself the meow meow or I would call myself the woof woof. He stated that all we needed was a chirp chirp and a oink oink and we had ourselves an alliance. He was serious and we will talk more about that later. Hell, if a stupid sounding (fake to me) alliance gets me further, I am all for it. Just don't be surprised if I play the role of farmer Brown eventually and start some heads rolling.
Kaysar: He could be my Drew this season. He seems happy and a bit naive, and I think that I can get him to do whatever I need him to do. Its still early of course, but he could either be my pawn or early cannon fodder.
"Crazy" James: We talked for a little bit last night after I got home late, so I do not know him that well, but we both love sports and are both Mets fans, so we have that in common.
Danielle: She is in the same category as James. We talked for quite awhile yesterday and we seem to have a lot in common. As long as I keep him on my good side, I am pretty sure that he will not nominate me. Me nominating him however....
April: April and I started out with a good conversation, and she seems to be alright, but for some reason she stopped responding tom y IMs. I am going to hold off on her for now and let her come to me. Possible threat.
Erika: Seems alright, not enough info on her yet, but we did have a good talk. She seems to buy my story, so that can be worked with.
Boogie: Talked to him, and we seemed to get along, but not enough info on him to get a good gauge yet. Possible threat.
Dick: Seems alright. Friendly but there is just something about him, not sure which yet, that makes me put my guard up. Warrants looking out for.
Carol, Amanda, Karen, and Kevin: I have not talked to any of them yet. I have sent welcome IMs to all of them, but far no response.
So far so good. Looks like a good cast and I look forward to doing some damage. Though I will have to contend with the "ghost of Nathan".
